Principal's Message

It is with great pleasure that I welcome all of you back to school for the 2010 - 2011 school year. I am the principal at James Monroe K-8 School and am looking forward to an exceptional school year.

Whether your child is just beginning their school journey in Kindergarten, or is just finishing their middle school years, James Monroe K-8 School is truly a “Great Place to Grow!" From our Monroe Gardens Program for grades K-3 to our ATM and Long Beach Scholars/AVID Programs for grades 4 - 8, Monroe offers opportunities for each student to grow in knowledge and in experiences that enrich their lives. In addition, our MACS program in grades 1 through 8 will continue to offer a challenging academic program for students who are accelerated learners.

There is a lot of school pride here at Monroe. Our PTSA and school staff work diligently to host many exciting activites for students and parents. Our middle school sports program has a fine reputation in our school district. We are striving for academic excellence by having all students in Monroe Uniform.
Our K-8 program continues to support our mission ”…to effectively meet the needs of our learning community …inspire life-long learning ...support our students academically, emotionally, and socially.”

2010 - 2011 marks our ninth full year as a K-8 school. As we celebrate this accomplishment, we remain committed to providing the best possible education for each student.
